(Adopted by a MD State Trooper) Hunter, sans Brownie is doing well. He is very loving. He loves the cats but the same cant be said for them. He has a girlfriend named Lacey who is a Boxer. They go on "dates" aka: when we have cookouts, about once a week. Stay in touch and your welcome to visit him anytime.

HELLO SARAH !! WE ADOPTED “STEFFI” FROM YA A COUPLE WEEKS AGO AND JUST WANNA GIVE YOU AN UPDATE ! SHE LOOOVES IT HERE ! WE TOOK A FAMILY VOTE AND RENAMED HER “ DAISY GIRL “ !! SHE HAS BEEN TO THE GROOMER , HAD A NICE BATH AND HER NAILS DONE ! SHE IS AN AWESOME DOG ! WE ARE SO HAPPY TO HAVE HER IN OUR FAMILY !!

I just wanted to let you know that Smooch (I've re-named him Bailey) is doing great here at my home. He's pretty much got the whole potty training thing down now, which of course is always good! I've even taught him to "sit." He gets along great with our other dog Sasha (in the picture) and my boyfriend and I just love him to death.

Sarah, he is good…I think I’m going to name him Blackjack…he’s lucky & I am too! Oh yeah, & all the kids (neighbors) when I arrived home gathered all around anxious to meet him & pet him! … He was so great! … ‘good dog…He is a very good boy…wasn’t thrilled with getting a bath though. … He rushed right into the house once I released the leash (I had him tethered to the fence) & ran up the stairs before I could catch him to dry him!…so that’s what it took…NOW HE GOES UP & DOWN THE STAIRS ALL THE TIME … LOL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! … Anyway, he’s a keeper.
We renamed Robin, and her name is Kylee. She might just be the best dog ever! She is so smart and well behaved. She did great in the bath. She is eating and drinking fine. She slept through the night.
I got your call about the pup and wanted to let you know 'Brody' is doing just fine! He's adjusted well to our home and is super happy! He still has that mellow/laid back personality. He is behaving well - he loves to chew on socks, though! And he is doing awesome with potty training!! We still can't get over what a big boy he is! We also have a 1.5 year old chocolate lab at home and they are becoming best buds!

Ellie is a gem. She was spayed last Thursday and she was very sad looking when I picked her up but she recovered very quickly. She is taking her leash off the hook as we speak but i'm not walking in this storm!! Rain, yes, but not this..... She rides beautifully in the car. Gets in, lays down and doesn't get up unless the car is stopped. Looks around and back down when it starts moving. Odie, my 15 year old cat, is still not happy and Ellie is about sick of his stand-offishness! LOL. That's all for now...
I am just giving you a little update on our little girl. She is doing really well. She hasn't really grown, but she has filled out. She loves to go on walks, and is an amazing jogging partner. She is absolutely the most wonderful dog, and we love her so much. She is so well behaved, and such a good friend and amazing companion. I cannot believe we have been so blessed. I know that you had told me that one of her siblings was in a foster home, and I know that was a really long time ago, but if he/she is still there, please let me know. I have attached a picture, and I just wanted to thank you again for bringing her into our lives!!! Hope all is well!

It was a pleasure dealing with you over Ashley's adoption, thanks for all you do for all these animals!

Thanks for bringing Lyla into our lives. And thanks for all you do to find them great homes! This is a fantastic thing.

Thank you so much for all that you have done to bring us Mya. She is an absolute joy to have, and the perfect family dog. She even learned to walk on the treadmill and she walks about 2 miles a day on it. She has taken wonderfully to our 15 year old, which is her main trainer. She loves to sleep in bed with her. She's a part of the family and I can't imagine life without her! Thanks again for everything, we couldn't be happier.
Just wanted to let you know that Kizzy has adjusted well. She is a very smart little girl. She has not had any accidents in the house. We are taking her to get a bath today and getting some more things for her to chew on. We are so happy to have Kizzy as an addition to our faimly.
I hope more dogs and families will be as lucky as us to have found you and your rescue.
Sarah -- all is well. April has changed the demeanor of the pack to one less A type. so interesting how one dog can change the entire constellation. She is playful submissive so all the girls are doing fine though they are a ll little annoyed with her constant play. She is very young -- likley not more than a little over a year -- so she is all legs and heart. You do great service work with your helpers. That was some gathering yesterday. - my God the puppies were all precious. Anyway, she is one happy camper dog. And everyone loves her.
Sorry we haven't gotten back to you but having a puppy has definitely increased activity at our house. We have renamed Trixie Daisy and she is doing fine. We took her to the vet yesterday and she passed with flying colors. She is still getting used to her new home but she is very sweet and smart. We don't see any problems with her. We will start dog training classes soon as who ever had her before taught her a few habits that we would like to break such as begging at the table. Otherwise she is a perfect dog. Thanks for all your help. I wish you luck in the future saving dogs.
Her new name is Bella! Suits her perfect. She ate this morning! A whole bowl of food! I was so proud! Had to mix dry with a little wet but she gobbled it down. She's a little funny about drinking in the house? She only wants to drink water outside. I can't for the life of me get her to drink inside. She's starting to play and she comes in the house easier now. Treats worked. Very leery about her surroundings but that's normal for now. With all the rain my yard's starting to look like a jungle and she's loving the tall wet grass. Hope all is well with the other families and their new additions transition.
In the car, she alternated between licking my boy's hands and resting her head on the seat. When we arrived at home, she stayed in the car with my children until we brought our sheltie out on a leash. Both dogs were wagging their tails like crazy and sniffing each other! She explored the yard a little bit, running around our legs in circles on the leash. After we brought her in, I did take her upstairs for a bath. She did very well; she just stood there while I scrubbed her fur and poured cups of warm water over her. We did crate her for the night (with the blanket we had her lay on in the car); she was tired! (Oh, and she did pee outside before turning in for the night). This morning, both dogs were very happy to see me. I walked around the perimeter of the yard 3x on a leash, and she settled in pretty well to walking on the leash. I do plan to take her to the vet early this week. I will let you know how she does, but overall she seems very happy to have a home and a new doggy companion. Our dog also seems very happy; he is constantly sniffing around her and wagging his tail!
...Barry gave me your number. We just put our lovable 7 year old Keeshond “Aspen” down due to illness. We are looking for a rescue dog. We’ve narrowed our search to a 30-40 lb young Spitz mix. We have an active family with kids. If you come across something of interest please give us a call...

Sarah, here are pictures of Nala on our family vacation. We love her and she is a wonderful dog. She's absolutely spoiled here at our house and we all adore her.
Just wanted to send along some recent pics of Trooper. We took him to the vet today and yeah he gained about 5 pounds in the passed week. He is now up to a whopping 11 pounds, and beyond a case of "Kennel Cough" and being a bit under weight still. He is doing great. He is snuggly, playful and really really smart. Thank you again for all of your help and if I ever hear of anyone wanting toi rescue, I will certainly keep you in mind. Thank you again for our wonderful puppy.

Hi Sarah! Just letting you know Bonnie is still very happy and healthy! Since we did not know her "real" date of birth, I gave her Sept. 3rd. It was my Dad's birthday. You would not believe some of the crazy things she has done. She is getting the hang of "house-breaking". The "pooping" in the house in the early morning is much improved now.She stays in a kennel only during my hours at work from 8:30am til about 1pm, usually. She sleeps in our bedroom, which has caused some problems for us, but we are getting through it all. She wants to "eat" our smallest bunny, but she is learning that pet bunnies ARE NOT FOOD! lol~! Our big lop eared rabbit nipped her pretty good when she stuck her nose in his cage, so she pretty much leaves him alone! One day, I was bringing in groceries, and we have a pond across the street which attracts many fishermen and stuff, and I accidentally left the front door open and she bolted across the street! OH MY GOD! I was so scared and screamed and everyone around screamed as she got hit by a car and rolled about 20 ft!!!!!! Then she got up and ran back across the street to our backyard and porch! SHE SURVIVED WITHOUT A SCRATCH! Can you believe it???? I felt so stupid for letting the door open, but I was so used to not having to worry about a pet...well, anyway, all is okay and we believe that our old dog's angel was looking out for Bonnie that day! She is now totally up to date on shots and we got her spayed as well. On June 8th, I'm taking her for obedience class. She is learning some more tricks like "stay" and "fetch". She loves our backyard and she still loves to chase bugs! She is a crazy pup~! I hope all is well with you...let me know what's going on for you! Cathy
Sarah, good morning. We hope things are going well with your rescue efforts. Shadow is turning out to be a really good dog. He still has outbursts of “puppy”, but is getting much calmer (most of the time). He is doing well at school and the heartworm/hookworm issues are overJ. He loves to run at the dog park and makes our back yard look like a NASCAR track when he runs. We put a gate in our fence so our neighbors can let him in their yard. He is the only dog I know that has foster parents. The first two pictures are his brother and sister-they are doing ok with the new doggie until he gets a puppy burst; then he finds out who is boss. When the gray cat has enough, he will call to get the dog in trouble—usually works. Thanks and best wishes again. Dan, Connie, Mom, Heather, Hairy the Horrible, and Shadow
Hi Sarah.
Just wanted to give you an update on our Lil Lilly. Lilly is doing really well. She has grown alot and she has gotten tall. And she loves to lay on top of the pillows on our love seat.
Take Care!

Hi Sarah, Just to let you know, Daisy's doing very well. I think she had an issue with peeing/pooping because of her surgery. She's both-free for a long time now. And like Rocky, she has the ability to hold it for some time. I wouldn't recommend having a dog spayed after the age of 5 but definitely not at 8. However, if we hadn't, I have no doubt that they would have mated. She backed up to Rocky initially and he was all too willing! But then, I guess the surgery kicked in and then she started riding him. He didn't like that much so he stopped trying to ride her and she now no longer tries to ride him. It could have been a authority/seniority/dominance thing too as I've heard that's why female dogs do that. Serves him right!! lol He tries to ride every female, even my female friends! Take care,
Sharon

Sarah-Just wanted to drop you a note and let you know that Hermione has been the best blessing we could ever ask for! She is just a sweetie!! She loves to swim..and sleep :) haha. I attached a picture to show you how beautiful she's getting. She's really shaping up to look more like a golden retriever. Vet says she's healthy as a horse!!! Sorry I haven't emailed regularly. I switched jobs to be closer to home and lost your email address. The first picture is old, but it's still adorable and had to share it with you. The second picture is more recent:) Hope you're having a fabulous day!

Hi, Sarah -
How are you? Just wanted to let you know that Smooch was neutered 10 days ago. He had the stitches out this morning and he is all healed up and ready to get back to being his normal wonderful self! The vet didn't want him to scoot under the bed to sleep so we borrowed a crate for him and he slept in there and he did very well with it. He also wasn't able to run around the back yard, he had to be on the leash and wasn't allowed to go in and out the doggie door, so when he got home this morning, first thing he did was go out the doggie door, down the steps from the deck into the yard, and ran around like crazy! He is such a wonderful companion, so cute and funny! Thank you so much for choosing us to have him! Gail and Rodger Knox
All these toys and I play with my old plastic cup! (Otis at play)
Hi Sarah, Otie is doing great. Still has his cold but the cough is better. He is a great little guy. We sure do love him and the cats are becoming his buddies.
thanks again Sarah and I will stay in touch...Hi Sarah, just wanted to give you an update on Otis. He is doing so well. Took him to vet today for bordatella shot. He got neutered 2 weeks ago. He now weighs 33 lbs. He is the greatest pup. We totally love him. All the cats are ok now with him now. In fact he plays with a couple but they put him in his place if he gets too rough. Otie loves the water. We need to get him a bigger pool next year. We take him to gunpowder, Loch Raven and he goes into the water to retrieve sticks (we keep him on his leash though). I am so glad we adopted him from your group. He is a very happy dog. Anyway, I will keep in touch. Take care, Pat

We also have a 1.5 year old chocolate lab at home and they are becoming best buds! So he will be going back again in a couple weeks, as well. They said he's in healthy condition and that we can expect him to maybe reach over 100 lbs!
I also plan on getting him enrolled in some obedience classes soon to help get an early start on controlling his behavior since he will soon be able to overpower all of us!!
Thanks again for the opportunity to give him a home and we'll keep in touch! I attached a couple pictures for you

Good Afternoon,
I'm trying to get in contact with Sarah in regards to a puppy that I recently adopted. Her name is Rorey she was the beagle/lab mix that was all white with a brown patch. She's doing so well and we just adore!! I wondering if we could stop by for her third set of shots. Is it still $15? Please let me know. I figured this would be an easier way of contacting you since your so busy with those adorable puppies! I get my email to my phone so if you need immediate response to anything I can absolute do that. Also, if you need any positive feedback for your website I'd love to help. Rorey is amazing and thank you for helping me adopt her! You're doing an awesome thing with these dogs! Thanks again,
Julianne Pires

Hi. A few weeks ago my Hannah told me about an Elkhound she'd seen on the Internet named Sarge and said I should drive to Towson to meet him. I found a delightful pup living with a woman and her cat and was lucky enough to take Sarge home that night. After a few days' thought we renamed him Mischa (little bear) and he, my girl, my two cats and I have been getting along swimmingly. He's a great dog. Really sweet, generally wants to be good, loves to chew the things he's supposed to chew, very friendly with every person and almost every dog. He even likes to kill but not eat the cave crickets that terrorize my girlfriend. He also loves to romp through the marshy coastline and zip through the dog park at Quiet Waters Park which is just across the street from my apartment in Annapolis. He also loves when we cook for him as we're doing later tonight. I read a few different places that Norwegian Elkhounds are fearless but Mischa's still a baby at heart. When the dogs at the dogpark get a little too rowdy and loud he comes up and lays down at my feet or hides behind my legs. If we're walking past a dog and he can't go say hello he whines like a puppy. In short he's a joy; a happy dog who we're very happy and lucky to be living with. Thank you all so very much for allowing us the opportunity to live with such a handsome, vivacious, well-behaved little wolf-man. I think tonight we're dining on turkey stew atop Call of the Wild dog food.
