Dogs in Danger started in 2007. A black lab named "Duke" was in Ohio at a high kill shelter, and was due to be euthanized in 3 days. Duke had been neglected, starved, chained to a tree with the lead so tight it became embedded in his neck, and was also hit by a truck. He had bad hips and half a tail. But he was a gorgeous dog, and just wanted someone to love him. We drove to Ohio the day before his time was up to rescue him. He had been in the shelter for 7 months, and was so happy to be out. It was amazing to see him light up after being out of the shelter, and start a new life. He was adopted to someone in our family, and is a great dog with lots of love to give. After that, we decided begin an organization devoted to helping dogs that are in danger.

My Rescued Dogs: Duke, the Siberian Husky, American Eskimo Mix, and Wes, the Irish Wolfhound and Husky Mix Puppy (who was found walking down a highway at 7 weeks old in Ohio, in February 09.)

Wes was going to be adopted out, until he adopted Duke himself.
